SLAM Wins Foul Weather Gear Shoot Out!
The staff of the Italian magazine "Vela e Motore" march 09 issue tested the best product on the market and SLAM won the contest with an innovative oilskin "with outstanding wearability and lightness" .The brand new BORMAN SAILING TOP 605, the only one which got the maximum score of three stars for collar and cuffs resistance to water and wind, came first ahead of 22 other oilskins, amongst which 13 considered offshore. Great enthusiasm amongst the R&D Team of SLAM who have been working now for years in collaboration with some of the best worlds' sailors including Russell Coutts and Franck Cammas.
The brands of Oilskins tested included: Musto, Slam, Gill, Tribord, Helly Hansen, Henry Lloyd, Sea Storm, Aigle, Guy Cotten, Puma, TBS, XS, Compass.
Each and every jacket has been worn in front of a hydrant, was tested keeping the wrists and neck closed. Also carried out was a test of maneuvering, with a winch. Not to be missed!
