Speed Record!

Sandy Point, Australia: Sandy Point, Australia: Macquarie Innovation, the hull that SLAM have been sponsoring for the past two years, has broken the 50 knots barrier !!!
Even though the result is awaiting official sanctioning from the World Sailing Speed Record Council of ISAF, it really looks like this time the Macquaire Innovation Team has made it: innovation, research, human creativity and an incredible determination have been the key factors in achieving the record they have been trying to beat for a while.
The "flying hull" peaked at 54.23 knots with an average speed of 50.43 knots along the 500 metres stretch in front of Sandy Point, Australia. This distance is necessary to confirm the result, which after factoring in the variables including the effect of the waves, could be set at an average speed of 50.08 knots, reached with real winds of only 24 knots.
Huge pride taken also by SLAM, who once again backed up a project of great technological value, and always believes in innovation whether it is about new sailing boats or new fabrics or assembly of its garments, who stand out for their technical features, comfort and reliability.
